About the School

Established in 2015.

My philosophy is simple: support students and challenge them to give only their best. There are three areas that we will focus on:

Comfort- For some students, transitioning into the pool is as simple as 1, 2, 3. For others, it is a truly difficult experience. In order for students to progress, they must feel comfortable in their environment, and we work hard to make sure they feel safe and comfortable while encouraging them to work on techniques to make them stronger and more confident swimmers.

Safety- More than just for recreational purposes, it is essential that students have an essential set of skills to ensure that they are safe in the event of an aquatic emergency. At a minimum, we encourage all students to remain calm, be proficient in swimming to the side with strokes that exert minimal energy, and have the skill to get themselves out of the pool.

Skill- Finally, I work with students on making sure that their technique and endurance develops in a manner that will allow them

My name is Nick Berry and I have been teaching swim lessons for the last 7 years at fitness facilities and private instruction. Through my training and experiences, I have honed specific and effective techniques to teach students how to swim in a relatively short amount of time. Additionally, I am a former lifeguard and am presently CPR/AED and First Aid certified for Adults and Pediatric through the American Red Cross.

In the summer I'm in the water and the rest of the year I'm in the classroom. I just returned from a year teaching English in Spain, and in the Fall I will return to Chico where I earned my Bachelors in 2015 to get my teaching credential in the state of California In my free time I enjoy being outdoors with family and friends, preferably around a campfire.
